Bara Bakehouse is a small, independently run artisan bakery in the heart of Comber. Joe (the baker) is originally from Cornwall, the inspiration behind the name; Bara means "bread" in Cornish.
So although we may be in Northern Ireland, you won't find any soda or wheaten bread here, it is yeasted/sourdough breads all the way.
Our bread is handcrafted using slow, traditional techniques to naturally develop the flavour and structure of each loaf. It contains just four ingredients: flour, water, salt, and yeast.
