Our "Black Badgers" are a dark brown variety of carlin or maple peas, grown in Britain for at least 500 years.

Deliciously nutty, carlin peas hold their shape when cooked and make a good substitute for chickpeas or dark green / Puy lentils. They're superb as oven dried or vinegar drenched parched peas, in salads with roasted vegetables, or added to soups, stews and curries.
