Rathcam Organic Farm

Rathcam House , Gaybrook, Mullingar, Co.Westmeath, N91V2X4

We are a certified organic farm in the midlands, run by mother and daughter team Diana and Nadia.
We have diverse woodlands and raise pastured organic pigs and lamb.
Our pigs live between woods and pasture, and have a symbiotic relationship with the land- they access all their key nutrient requirements through rooting in the soil and the soil benefits from their rooting. They are raised on a healthy diet of spelt and rye grains from Dunany Organic flours, as well as organic pig nuts and Nadia's organic vegetables. This results in very healthy pigs who have never required any veterinary input or medications. Sustainability and animal welfare are at the core of our ethos here, and that is reflected in our care of the pigs, who enjoy a life that is very similar to their natural environment.
Our flock of sheep is comprised of old breed Jacobs and lowland x. They are similarly raised with free access to good pasture and organic oats in the winter months. Our lamb is certified by Bord Bia quality assurance scheme.
We have native woodland plantations and harvest fire wood from the thinnings, providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly heat source for the chilly Irish winters.
