Large, pale lilac-blue flower heads on slender stems with the characteristic pincushion centres that are loved by bumblebees and a wide variety of butterflies.
So pretty in drifts in a meadow and due to its shorter, more compact habit, ideal for attracting wildlife in the front of a sunny border.
Can be confused with Field Scabious as the flowers are very similar but, Small Scabious is shorter, more slender and less hairy with more delicate foliage.
