Unusual, waxy, claw-like yellow flowers, stained purple-red inside, cover the bare branches of this hardy, deciduous shrub in the very depths of winter.
Best planted near the house or a path so that its wonderful rich, spicy scent can be appreciated.
Prefers a sunny spot and flowers best with the shelter of a south-facing wall or fence. Happy in any well drained soil.
Loved by flower arrangers, a couple of stems of Wintersweet will quickly fill a room with fragrance.
Eventual height 4m and spread 3m.
Wonderful for bringing a much-prized splash of colour to the garden during the darkest months of the year. Flowers December - February.
Fully hardy.
Available in a 3L pot.
