Agretti is a succulent Mediterranean shrub also known as saltwort, Monk's Beard and Salsola Soda, and probably most similar in people's minds to samphire. It's absolutely delicious eaten raw with a lovely salty crunch, but as well as adding it to salads you can also cook it very lightly and add it to pasta, omelette, quiche, frittata, or just steamed and drizzled with olive oil and lemon juice.
