I have been a vegetarian for 29 years and was vegan for 5. I am the Head Chef at the Cheese and Grain in Frome and I am also the food writer for the Frome Standard and Somerset Guardian. I run a food blog and write for several magazine publications under my former title "Slummy Mummy's Kitchen" now "Katy's Kitchen". I am proud to be the winner of the award "Outstanding Contribution to the Food Industry in Somerset" at the Believe in Somerset Awards in November 2018.
Growing up on a family small holding (My Mother is Lois From Meadowside Farm Kitchen - also a supplier through the FFH) I was taught to cook from a young age. I believe in using local, good quality ingredients and cooking healthy and affordable veggie and vegan family dinners. I strive to make high quality meals that are different from the things you can buy in the supermarkets. All my food is cooked with love. I hope you enjoy eating it as much I enjoy cooking it! X
