Bassingthorpe Milk is located at Manor Farm, Boothby Pagnell, near Grantham. The business is run by an all female team made up of Anne Harrison, who manages the farm’s herd of pedigree Bassingthorpe Friesian Holsteins, her sister Julie Smith who previously worked in the catering industry and is now in charge of the pasteurisation process and Julie’s daughter, Rachel who oversees the twice-a-day milking routine.
Their farm is home to a 400-strong herd made up of 200 milking cows and 200 young stock, plus a small number of Brown Swiss cows. The business was launched following 18 months of research and preparation.
